    FreePBX + ActiveLens

    AI for your open-source PBX,
with no change to how your phones work.

FreePBX runs your phones on your own server. ActiveLens adds the AI. Install a small connector once, link each extension to its person, and every recorded call arrives with a transcript, a summary, the tasks and the follow-ups already written.

    One connector, everything covered

Your extensions, next to everything else.

FreePBX calls arrive in the same place as your meetings, your other phone lines and the conversations you have in the room.

    Recorded calls

Every recorded call on a linked extension comes in shortly after it ends. Recording happens on the PBX, so it does not matter which phone the call was on.

    Your call history

Run one command on the PBX to send the recordings of the last 7, 14 or 30 days. Calls already in ActiveLens are skipped.

    Calls on your computer

On calls from your computer, the ActiveLens desktop app works live.

    Online meetings

Zoom, Teams and Google Meet — captured with no bot joining the call and nothing for the other side to admit.

    In-person meetings

Open the app and record the room, from the same device and into the same record as everything else.

    Any other dialer

If part of your team works outside FreePBX, the desktop app records those calls too, whatever phone system or softphone they use.

    Effortless

    One key and one command.

The install needs root access to the PBX over SSH. That is usually your IT person or the company that set up your phones. Nobody else installs anything.

A small connector on the PBX

An admin creates a connector key in ActiveLens. One command installs the connector on the PBX, and the installer asks for the key.

Nothing reaches your PBX from outside

The connector sends each new recorded call over a secure outbound connection. No open ports and no firewall changes. The PBX only needs to reach the internet over HTTPS.

You can see it is running

The connector checks in every 5 minutes. Each PBX has its own key and its own card in ActiveLens, with its last check-in and its last call. A workspace can connect up to 10.

Your phones stay as they are

Your numbers, extensions and call routing stay the same. Nothing to port and nothing to migrate.

    Ask Anything

Answers on day one, before anyone takes a new call.

Import your recent FreePBX recordings and there is something to ask questions of immediately — you do not wait for new calls to accumulate. Ask in plain language across all of them — what customers call about, what your team promised, how this month compares with last — and the answer comes back structured, dated and grouped. Ask for an analysis and it builds the chart, then explains it underneath.

    • One request builds a whole view — totals, distribution by team, top contributors — ready to re-run against fresh data
    • Every line cites the call it came from, and any answer turns into a filter: show me exactly those calls
    • It searches your calls, the documents you have uploaded, or both — and tells you which it used
    • Not an admin tool: everyone gets it, over exactly the calls they are allowed to see
    • On a call from your computer, ask about the conversation you are in right now

What is waiting when you hang up

    • A full transcript, searchable across every call and meeting
    • A summary of what was discussed, decided and promised
    • Tasks created from the commitments made on the call, assigned to a real owner
    • A follow-up email drafted from what was actually said
    • Your CRM updated, automatically or after you review it

ActiveLens captures the calls FreePBX records: make sure call recording is on for the extensions you link. Very short calls and calls between two extensions are skipped.

    Three steps, a few minutes

    1

    Create a connector key

An admin names the PBX in ActiveLens and creates the key. It is shown only once.

    2

    Install the connector

On the PBX, as root, run the install command and paste the key. The PBX shows as connected within a few minutes.

    3

    Link your extensions

Pick a colleague for each extension, or invite someone by email. One person can hold several. New recorded calls then come in on their own.

    Works with everything else

The calls come in through FreePBX. What they produce lands in the tools your team already works in.
